2 water tanks and 2 taps connected together via a simple pipeline now provide water to 177 students and 11 staff members at Kali Devi School. For many years, the school constantly faced water shortages due to the lack of a water storage facility and the absence of proper water distribution pipelines.

Now, the students and teachers have complete access to water during school time. The two tanks combined can stored 1500 liters of water, while the taps ensure that water is used most efficiently and not wasted.

A small initiative such as this can bring about a big positive change to the school community.  Students and teachers have access to clean drinking water, they can wash their hands at any time and school toilets remain clean and hygienic. In other words, availability of water minimizes the risk of illness caused due to poor hygiene and poor sanitary conditions for the school community.
